The Alley Cats Saturday, March 29, 2008 7:30
pm Don Whitney Auditorium Tillamook, OregonThe Alley Cats
are a perfect blend of musical talent and comic timing. The Cats
never miss a beat as they bring their own contemporary style to
the great songs of the 50s and 60s.
Together, their freshness and talent make them truly the Cat's
Meow! Tight harmonies, humor and a a cappella energy have made
them “America’s Premier Doo-Wop Group”!
|
| The Alley Cats, formed in 1987 by four students at Fullerton College in Southern California, landed their first singing job at Disneyland as part of the theme park’s “Blast to the Past” show in 1988 and has – despite a few personnel changes – remained together ever since. |
|
The a cappella oldies group, which specializes in the great sounds of the ’50s and ’60s sung in tight harmonies with unbelievable energy, went on to do numerous TV and radio appearances and have performed on stage with nostalgic acts from the same era such as Chubby Checker, the Tokens and Sha Na Na.
The selections on their CD albums read like a musical history of rock ’n’ roll’s golden age with such classic tunes as “Sh-Boom”, “Little Bitty Pretty One”, “Silhouettes”, “Poison Ivy”, “Teenager in Love”, “Little Darlin’” and “Duke of Earl”.
The Alley Cats hit the stage at 7:30 pm on Saturday,
March 29, 2008 at the Don Whitney Auditorium on the Tillamook High
School Campus in Tillamook.
